EASTERN Telecommunications Philippines, Inc. stated its $150-million (about P8.7 billion) submarine cable venture will assist it attain extra clients within the rural elements of Visayas and Mindanao.
The corporate, also called Jap Communications, undertakes the venture in partnership with telecommunications firms Globe Telecom, Inc. and InfiniVAN, Inc.
Jap Communications, by Cable Infinity ship operated by Kokusai Cable Ship Co., arrived within the municipality of Dapa, Siargao, on Sept. 22 for its cable laying venture below the Philippine Home Submarine Cable Community venture, the corporate stated in an e-mailed assertion.
Over the following 9 months, the submarine venture shall be expanded to incorporate different islands in Visayas and Mindanao, it added.
The corporate targets to achieve extra clients by boosting its community resiliency in distant and disaster-prone areas.
